About

Hi, my name is Anna Witek and I am a digital media designer based in Kendall Park, NJ. I started designing from a young age. I moved in to digital media while doing my Multimedia Design Courses at Rutgers University, Newark. From the courses I learned a range of skills in interactive design, building flash & html websites as well as information architecture. In addition, I gained skills in software including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, QuarkXpress and InDesign. The courses also included strong typography, future trends and advertising.

My Background

After graduating from Rutgers, I had a wide portfolio of design skills which could take me into many different sectors of business, but I chose to follow the web design path. In 2006, I started off going freelance while looking for a permanent job, creating websites such as Paul Robeson Gallery. I spent a lot of my time learning the web standards and practicing building sites to meet all accessibility guidelines. I then started work as a web/graphic designer back in 2007 at the Department of English at Rutgers University. I was introduced to building sites in content management system and since then I design and develop web sites in Joomla platform.

Present

I am currently employed part-time at the School of Arts and Sciences, Office of Information Technology. My current role as a web designer is to design mockups for the various sites and development in Joomla content management system.
